Mike Vance's first book, a small sports humor books called Oilers Anonymous, was published in 1994. Since that time, ten others have followed from multiple publishers. There are serious works on Texas and Houston history and other books that are all about the humor. Two books of historic true crime proved more popular than the others, and led Vance's book writing in a new direction. In 2024, Mike released his first novel, Wingo. It is the first book of an historical baseball fiction duology. Expect the second part, Wingo's Redemption, in early summer of 2024. Next on the horizon is a series of historic crime fiction. Those books will revolve around a sometimes shady and irascible Texas defense attorney of the early 1900s who has a knack for winning cases and a soft spot for a righteous cause.
