A documentary about the most important comedy club ever in Texas

The bonds between the original group of professional stand up comics in Houston are as strong as friendship gets. Growing up in the business together, living together on the road, and amassing a wealth of the most unbelievable stories. Mike started filming interviews for Stand Up Story over 15 years ago, and has over two dozen of them in the can, including a handful with great Annex comics who have sadly left us. This is a movie about a groundbreaking comedy club, the first ever in Texas, but more than that, it's a tale about the band of brothers and sisters who came together at a time that can never be matched. It's hilarious, poignant and an insightful look into what makes people do something that has been described as one of the hardest things in the world: stand there all alone and consistently make a bunch of paying strangers laugh their ass off.
